摘要

The targets for this technology are organic acids produced by fermentation or enzymatic reactions. Capturing organic acids as they are produced enables us to perform pH-controlled reactions without addition of buffers or bases. Advances are based on 1) modeling of molecular transport processes; 2) efficient capture of ionized products from dilute solutions; 3) reversible, covalent immobilization of enzymes; and 4) design of microorganisms that decouple metabolic production from growth.
