This paper aims to give an overview of laws governing air pollution. Overviews are given of the air pollution regulations of China, European Union, India, Japan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and USA. The USA's Enhanced Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) programs set an extreme for prescriptive regulations. Other countries rely on a company's sense of corporate social responsibility. The European Union promotes type testing to verify equipment emission performance but not in service monitoring. What's the best approach? That question will begin to be answered.
