摘要

A new concept based on optimization of convergence for higher order FEM is presented in this paper. The key feature is the existence of a multidimensional family of higher order vector finite elements which allows infinitely many choices of different basis functions providing the same accuracy but being different with respect to convergence properties. Several optimization schemes are investigated and proposed to trace the optimal element.
