Settlement analysis of an offshore structure attributed to lateral flow deformation of ground beneath the structure has been conducted. It is desired for coastal engineering design that deformation behavior of structure-ground system can be assessed by simple method such as finite element analysis. In order to reveal the mechanical behavior of sand ground which supports a structure subjected to various cyclic loads, a series of model tests and elasto-plastic FE analysis were carried out. In this study, one conventional technique for the deformation analysis for structure-sand deposits system is proposed.
