摘要

A lime stabilisation study about the desagregate alteration level of the basaltic materials from the Norwest of Uruguay to its rational improve in low-volume transit pavements is presented. The desagregates, which are in the paper defined, provides low performance natural bases under the wheel loads. The study was suitable in view of the potential development of the national lime production; then offering relatively economic solutions. The basaltic desagregates was characterised and the development of their mechanic behaviour with the lime was measured through unconfined compression tests. The possibility to improve the alterate basaltic material in economic form thanks the lime stabilisation is concluded if rational methods of study and design are applied.
