Wind retrieval from ADM-Aeolus signals

The direct detection Doppler lidar of the Atmospheric Dynamics Mission Aeolus operates in the UV and implements two direct detection channels. The Rayleigh channel is based on a dual Fabry-Perot, it aims at detecting frequency Doppler shifts (FDS) from air molecules. The Mie channel relies on a high-spectral resolution Fizeau interferometer sensitive to aerosols or cloud returns.
