摘要

We have developed a new pulsed, coherent Doppler lidar that operates at an eyesafe wavelength of 1.6 μm. This system provides higher average power, roughly half the pulse duration, a higher and adaptable PRF, and significantly smaller SWAP as compared with the existing 2 μm WindTracer~R system. Additional related developments have enhanced the signal processor and scanner. Overall reliability, supportability, and performance have been enhanced through these efforts. The reduced SWAP means that the 1.6 μm system can be more easily adapted to meet a broad range of mission needs, including airborne installations.
