Atrial Arrhythmia After Cardiac Transplantation - Effects of Surgical Technique

Atrial tachyarrhythmia including atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter are common dysarrhythmias that occur after orthotopic heart transplantation (OHT). This study examines the precise incidence of atrial arrhythmias and its association between the different techniques of heart transplantation. Excluding those patients with biopsy-proven rejection, the incidence of atrial tachyarrhythmias, especially atrial flutter of macro-reentry type was seen in the biatrial anastomoses group only.
