There was created a mathematical model to optimize contours of the mining stages for steepdippingdeposits during two-level mining of benches with cross-section panels, in which thefunctional contains the quartic non-linearity with respect to sought quantity - the width ofthe panels. And the position of the axis of the pioneer cut trench at the surface within theborders of opencast field should provide even distribution of volumes of mining operationsand the maximum number of stripped mineral resources on all operation edges for each stageof mining. Finding of the sought quantities and ensuring optimal mode plot of miningoperations is achieved by formulation of the problem with nonlinear programming method.Automation of calculations to optimize the construction parameters of operation edges in thedynamics of development of mining operations in such formulation of the problem usingnonlinear programming method is provided by splitting it into two consistently solvedoptimization problems by dynamic programming method based on the principle of theBellman`s optimality. In this case, the width of the panels, as on the mining stages, so fromall edges of opencast will allow optimizing mining operations mode through gradual equalchange of the current stripping ratio.
