Dimensioning of the strength elements from Ocna Dej Salt Mine

The present paper shows an assessment in prospect of the salt exploitation from Ocna Dej Salt Mine, taking into account that at present the depth given the surface of the level in exploitation is about 104 m (level II). As a result the design and calculation of the new levels dimensions that are to enter into exploitation, it comes out that the designed dimensions of the new levels can be maintained up to a depth 120/140 m (level III). Beneath this level a dimensioning of the strength elements room - pillar . ceiling is required. Based on the geomechanical properties of the salt at Ocna Dej as well as on a correct sizing of the structural strength - room - pillar, floor - to look at the options for vaulting the mine rooms with a view to recover a large quantity of good quality salt. Environmental aspects are analyzing in exploitation of salt rocks from Ocna Dej Salt Mine.
