A questionnaire survey was conducted of Engineeers practicing geotechnical engineering in Nepal considering a typical country representating the state of geotechnical engineering practice in developing countries. The questionnaire were distributed to some randomly selected geotechnical consultants, freelance engineers, engineers working in government, semi-government to private sectors, and some qustionnaires will also be distributed to a few teachers in universities teaching the geotechnical engineering. Some copies of the questionnaires will be distributed to geotechnical engineers studying, working and teaching overseas, especially in developed countries, and the main purpose of selecting wide spectrum of professionals in this survey is to study the current state of geotechnical engineering practice and also to asses the real trend of the geotechnical engineering moving ahead.
