Infiltration characteristics of Shinae-dong granite soil considering unsaturated condition were investigated in this study. Laboratory tests and statistics analyses were undertaken to examine the effect of relative compaction and water content on the soil-water characteristic curve. The soil-water characteristic curves for Shinnae-dong soil varies with relative compaction of soils, but initial water content seems not to affect the soil-water characteristic curve significantly. Laboratory column tests were conducted for various relative compactions, and the results of the test were simulated using the finite difference analysis. Parameters used for numerical analysis were estimated from the results of laboratory tests. The specimen with low relative compaction requires less time to saturate the full depth than that with high relative compaction.
