Local Wind Forces Acting on Tall Buildings

Nine models with different rectangular cross-sections were tested in a wind tunnel to study the characteristics of local wind forces on tall buildings. In the paper, wind tunnel test data have been analyzed to determine the local wind force coefficients and the power spectra of wind forces that are varying in vertical direction of the models. The effects of the aspect ratio and side ratio of tall buildings on wind pressures are investigated. For the correlation of the local wind forces, some important conclusions are also presented.
