Procedure for Assessing Wind damage to Wood-Framed Residences

摘要

This paper presents a procedure in how to evaluate wind damage to wood-framed residences. Four types of foundation connections are discussed along with commonly observed "weak links" or failure points. Recognition of these failure points is critical in determining the range of failure wind speeds. It is hoped that the procedure presented herein will help inspectors better determine F-scale ratings. A questionnaire is appended to the paper to assist field inspectors in documenting the damage.
