A System for Private Home Automation Based on a Standard Industrial Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)

摘要

In this paper a flexible and reliable system for smart home automation is presented. It is based on standardized hardware and open source communication protocols. This mandatory for a system which has to grow and develop with time. Whenever new hardware is added the software has to be adjusted. Due to te open sources different developers have the possibility to activate or deactivate existing modules or to implement their own modules for their specific application. Furthemore, a special sensor interface has been developed, which allows the measurement of (slow) analog signals to be measured by inexpensive digital PLC input terminals. Right now, up to eleven different modules have been implemented and the system is being tested in several configurations.
