Fiberoptic and groundwater fluorometers

At the VEGAS research facility for subsurface remediation several instruments are developed which allow the detection of contaminants in the soil and in the groundwater. The main objective is to get information about the contamination right on the site, to be able to react to the measurements. Two main concepts are currently being developed and used to detect PAH (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) dissolved in groundwater.
