Fundamental features of the developed bulk mechanical alloying are stated on the mixing and refining mechanism, the process parameters on the refining and alloying process and the capability of its scaling up to productive engineering. Two material systems are employed to demonstrate the effectiveness and applicability of this processing in direct fabrication of functional alloy materials: Bi-Te-Sb thermoelectric and Mg-Ni hydrogen storage materials. New characterics can be generated in these materials when yielded on the route of the present bulk mechanical alloying.
