In order to model infinite or very large domains by smaller finite computational domains accurately for wave propagation problem, Non-Reflecting Boundary Conditions (NRBC's) must be imposed at the truncation boundary. NRBC's do not allow waves (which originate in the interior) to reflect back into the interior by striking the truncation boundary. Penetration and perforation of solid has long been of interest in the military field and has recently commanded attention in a number of industrial applications, viz. the integrity of nuclear reactor pressure vessels, survivability of aircraft turbine blade struck by birds, and mining and construction technology etc. In the science of penetration mechanism two types of models are more common (a) Rigid Penetrator Model and (b) Rod Erosion Model. Here Penetration Mechanism at high velocity has been modelled considering Modified Rod Erosion Model applying NRBC's. The comparative study of the model with and without NRBC's give almost same result above 1300 m/s velocity of impact, but below that the result (depth of penetration) diverges. The result obtained with NRBC's shows agreement to the experimental value.
