摘要

After delineating the effects of impact from normal dynamic response, studies relating to finite element modelling of impact dynamics and the problems associated with it, are briefly reviewed. This is followed by presenting details of a pilot study carried out on a plate subjected to an impactor, are presented with a focus on parameters and the types of damage envisaged. Three types of damage of the plate are identified and the parameters influencing them like velocity and angle of impact are discussed from energy point of view.
