The co-liquefaction of rice stalk and coal in sub- and supercritical water without any coliquefaction agents addition was studied at 25MPa. No evidence of synergistic effects was found for the test samples. The conversion and liquid yield decreased and gas plus light oil increased. Experiments shows that sub- and supercritical water is a potential solvent and reactant in dealing with biomass to gain liquid products.
