Active Component: The Framework of Self-growing Application for Damage Prevention Systems

If software meets unexpected situation at run time then most traditional applications can't run safely. Especially, in safety-critical application, it is essential to detect the occurrence of abnormal events and prevent the system from the enemies caused by the events. For protecting life and properties from system failure caused by abnormal events, we designed and implemented the framework, Active Component, which can expand application's adaptability in environmental changes with or without human intervention. The Active Component uses Finite State Machine with Self-growing properties (GFSM) to represent application's behavior. As a result, the unexpected events is not harmful any more in our framework, those are driving force of the growth of an application.
