Microdevices give us many advantages, for example, miniaturization of systems, higher reaction speed, smaller amount of reagents, etc. These are also attractive for the development of in situ chemical analysis systems for environmental monitoring. In this paper, a microfluidic device for the measurement of Mn~(2+) ion is developed. The measurement principle is based on chemiluminescence (CL) which activity depends on the concentration of the metal ion. A PDMS microfluidic device is fabricated to measure a small amount of Mn ~(2+) ions in seawater. It is confirmed that the present device could be used for the measurement down to nM order concentration.
