The Kamariza carbonate-hosted sulphide deposit belongs to the famous Lavrion mines in Attica, related to the Upper Miocene granodiorite intrusion. The ore is composed of early-formed pyrite followed by arsenopyrite and sphalerite and then by a copper-rich assemblage. The later, includes chalcopyrite associated with sphalerite, enargite, tetrahedrite series minerals, emplectite, heyrovskyite, wittichenite, aikinite, lillianite, mummeite, galena, native gold and the tin-indium-bearing mineral petrukite (the majority of them reported for first time in the Lavrion deposit). Tetrahedrites and Bi-rich sulfosalts being the main hosts of Ag have an Ag content up to 13.8 wt% Ag. This type of mineralisation is mostly located at the mines of Ilarion and Jean Baptiste, and resembles a high-sulphidation stage in the evolution of the mineralising system.
