Magmatic fluids are found in melt inclusions of the felsic volcanic rocks that host the hydrothermal fields in the eastern Manus Basin of the western Pacific and Kick'em Jenny of the Lesser Antilles Arc in the Caribbean, as well as the large Ordovician massive Zn-Pb-Cu sulfide deposits in the Bathurst Mining Camp of New Brunswick. The fluids contain Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Mn and Pb chlorides, sulfides and oxides. They can be degassed from magma into seafloor hydrothermal systems and thus may contribute large quantities of ore metals to the formation of massive sulfides on modern and ancient sea floors.
