INSPECTION AND REPAIR OF SANDWICH STRUCTURES BASED ON DAMAGE TOLERANCE PRINCIPLES

摘要

The paper presents an overview of a current three-year, five-nation, European project that aims to improve the available technologies for both non-destructive inspection (NDI) and repair of fibre-reinforced sandwich structures in naval ships, and to provide damage tolerance based criteria for deciding whether, when and how defects and damage of different types should be repaired.
