Small wind energy systems

Almost non-existent 10 years ago, wind energy has become a significant production of electricity and an authenticated energy, with a rated power more than 10 000 MW installed in the world, more than 50 percent in Europe. The big and the small power wind energy ignored each other for a very long time. But their meeting enables to create a new size in wind energy: the medium power wind energy, the field of action of VERGNET. With wind turbines from 2 to 200kW, VERGNET wind plants can meet electrical needs ranging from a few kWh/day to several MW h/day, to power remote houses and isolated collectivities in difficult locations with high dependence on energy. They can operate either on autonomous mode (battery charging), or connected to a diesel-powered grid with high energy penetration. There small wind turbines can easily be shipped and installed in any rural location or island anywhere in the world, with light lifting means, whatever the climate is (heat, cold, hurricanes). Their design is very simple, reliable, to provide best energy service to end-users with low maintenance constraints and costs. Supplying reliable energy to these isolated populations contributes to their sustainable development. Maintenance is simple and can be performed by local staff.
