Utilisation of geothermal energy as a main renewable energy source in hungary

Hungary is rich in the renewable energy sources especially in geothermal energy and biomass and less in solar and wind energy. Hungary has one or the biggest underground thermal water reserves and geothermal energy potential of low and medium enthalpy in the World. (Arpasi, 1993.) The conditions of the Conceptual increasing of the geothermal energy utilisation as a main renewable energy source in Hungary have been elaborated and are reviewed in this short paper.
