The permeability dispersions of layered composites (laminates) with magnetron sputtered continuous or patterned iron-based films 0.1-1.0 μm thick are parametrically reconstructed from reflectivity measurements at 0.01 to 10 GHz. The influence of metal thickness upon its intrinsic permeability is discussed The parameters of magnetic resonance are compared with theoretical limits. The microwave permeability of laminates exceeds that of composites based on carbonyl iron.
