The development of an artificial process to create copper patina is of commercial value because of both the added value and the aesthetic outlook of patina. For several decades, numerous researchers have tried to artificially prepare patina, using diverse procedures. The use of contaminating substances, such as salts of As, Hg, Pb, etc, should be avoided. In this paper, the effect of addition of Na_2SO_4, NaCl and NaNO_3 in tap water from various sources is discussed.
