A Design of a Portable Instrument on Defects Examination and Fault Diagnosis for Rolling Bearings

This paper introduces the system of a portable bearing diagnosis system. It adopts several kinds of examination methods. And it can examine vibration signal, temperature signal and acoustic emission (AE) signal of rolling bearings. This instrument is mainly made up of two parts, including an examination handset and a portable computer. The examination handset is used to detect the on-side signal of rolling bearings and estimate some simple faults. The portable computer is used as host computer. And it performs test control, data processing and fault diagnosis. They communicate with RS232 serial port. The core of the hardware of the examination handset is 8031 SCM. Its hardware system contains data collecting module, data pretreatment module, sample controlling module and A/D transform module. In the portable computer, we adopt the visual interactive programming environment-C++ Builder and the modularization program mode. It contains data collecting module, data communication module, data analyzing and processing module and fault diagnosis module.
