摘要

In order to realize building materials with good thermal properties, composites made of cement and vegetal fibers were prepared. Various vegetal tropical fibers were studied by determining their botanical composition. Fibers -were pyrolyzed between 200 and 700°C, observed by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and then, some of them incorporated in cement. Two 200°C heat-treated fibers contains were used to prepare composite materials, 0.5 and 1 weight percent.
