A continuous process for low-temperature methanol synthesis from CO/CO_2/H_2 based on the promoting effect of alcohol solvent has been developed. 2-butanol, acting as a promoter, with the aid of Cu/ZnO solid catalyst, realized the high efficient synthesis of methanol with one-pass methanol yield of 4.7.0 % and methanol selectivity of 98.9% at temperature as low as 443K and 50 bar, which can be a very promising method for methanol production at low temperature.
