Ordered mesoporous materials have high surface area (500-1400 m2/g) and large pore size (2-30 nm), showing good catalytic properties for catalytic conversion of bulky reactants. However, compared with those of zeolites, the relatively low hydrothermal stability and catalytic activity of ordered mesoporous materials strongly hinder their wide application in industrial reactions. This talk will systemically summarize our recent approaches for syntheses of mesoporous materials with good hydrothermal stability and high catalytic activity, which include (l) hydrothermally stable and catalytically active ordered mesoporous silica-based materials prepared from preformed zeolite nanoclusters; (2) high-temperature synthesis of hydrothermally stable ordered mesoporous silica-based materials by using fluorocarbon-hydrocarbon surfactant mixtures; (3) catalytially active and hierachical mesoporous zeolites templated with a mixture of small organic ammonium salts and mesoscale cationic polymers.
