A novel FCC process that boosts propylene production has been proven in a 30bbl/day demonstration plant thorough 2-year operation in Saudi Arabia. The data from the demonstration plant was compared with the data obtained by a O.lbbl/day pilot plant. Any significant difference was not observed in product yield structure as well as research octane number of gasoline, except a slight difference in both coke yield and olefinisity of LPG. As high as 20.4 mass % propylene yield and 35.7 mass% gasoline yield was obtained, however a degree of replacement to the developed catalyst system was as low as 40% achieved.
