摘要

The anticipated large contrast in electrical properties of normal and malignant breast tissues has sparked interest in microwave breast cancer detection. This paper describes both measurement probes required for characterization of an extensive database of breast tissues, as well as image formation algorithms that take advantage of skin reflections in the data. These algorithms are demonstrated on simulated and experimental data, demonstrating the feasibility of microwave tumor detection.
