摘要

It is of great significance for air pollution control to develop SO_x (x = 2,3) gas sensors which can be used in situ to detect SO_x content in the flue gases or other industrial environments. In the view of that the techniques currently employed to detect SO_x can not meet the requirements, a novel electrochemical SO_x sensor based on Ag- #beta#"-alumina solid electrolyte has been developed in the author's lab. It shows excellent characteristics and is ready to be used for SO_x-containing air. This article represents its performance as a function of operation parameters as well as the research work ongoing for the development of the sensor inthe practical environments, e.g. flue gases.
