Hydro Aluminium, Hycast a.s, has recently developed a new generation of inline melt refining unit for the aluminium industry. A traditional gas fluxing principle combined with a unique design, gives optimal utilization of the fluxing gas, and eliminates disadvantages of the conventional degassing systems available today. The unit is characterized by remarkable high removal efficiency of hydrogen and inclusions from the molten aluminium. The operational costs are low due to very low process gas (Argon) consumption, a cheap preheating system, a drain free reactor and few rotors in operation. A two-rotor system has a capacity of more than 65 metric tons per hour. The system is fully automated.
