Oxidation behavior of TiAl{sub}3

摘要

The oxidation behavior of TiAl{sub}3 intermetallics was investigated as a function of time at 1273K in pure dry oxygen. The oxidation experiments were carried out using TGA method. The oxidation scales were analyzed using SEM, EDS and X-raydiffraction methods. The structures of oxides formed at the different oxidation times were analyzed. The mechanism of oxidation of TiAl{sub}3 intermetallics was discussed.
