The nanoparticles of nickel-cerium containing hydrogen storage property were prepared by hydrogen arc plasma method and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) and pyrolysis naphtha primary hydrogenation test. It was shown that the catalytic activity and hydrogen storage property were related to surface NiCe alloy of the catalyst and the selectivity was related to the particular preparation method.
