摘要

A more intensive use of daylight, with a view to minimizing electricity consumption for lighting and reducing heating and cooling loads, has become an important strategy in the effort to improve the energy efficiency of non-residential buildings. Advances in artificial lighting technology are moreover leading to the use of light sources with higher luminous efficacy as well as more efficient lighting fixtures. A successful integration of the two lighting approaches through "intelligent" building design and control can lead to significant improvement of the users' visual comfort and amenity, while simultaneously reducing the environmental impact of buildings. An overview of recent progress in research and development in daylighting and artificial lighting technologies is given in this paper, with some emphasis on the integration of both lighting techniques by means of advanced building control strategies.
