摘要

Pd/CeO{sub}2 mixed oxide catalyst particles were prepared by a deposition-precipitation technique. They were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and gas absorption desorption measurements. XRD patterns revealed the presence of a small amount of palladium in the form of PdO. The presence of PdO on the surface of CeO{sub}2 was also probed using SEM. This was further supported by EDX and elemental mapping procedure. The synthesized Pd/CeO{sub}2 catalyst was effective on reducing toxic gas emissions of a spark ignition petrol engine especially for CO and HC.
