DEVELOPMENT OF AGRICULTURAL EXPERT SYSTEMS AND DIGITAL COLLECTIONS FOR RURAL AREAS IN VIETNAM

摘要

In order for ICT application demonstration sites being able to access and locate required information, we have created some sample Agricultural Exepert Systems (AES) by using English version of modified Platform for Agriculrural Intelligent Systems Development (PAID 4. 0) supplied by NERCITA and digital collection of documents on agricultural techniques by using Greenstone Digital Library (GSDL). The new type of AES uses the wizard query approach. It is found that the modified AES is easier to be used by farmers. The digital collections are built with HTML documents. Selected metadata schema is Dublin Core Metadata Elements. The use of GLI and built-in classifier allows to build collection with easy to search and browse features.
