Experimental laser diagnostic data is presented for flame characterisation during interactions with turbulent fields generated in the wake of a solid obstacle High-Speed Laser-Sheet Flow Visualisation and Twin-Camera Digital Particle Image Velocimetry were employed on a propagating flame interacting with a singe rectangular obstacle. A technique for calculating flame displacement speed was developed and gave results as high as ten time unstretched laminar flame speed. Negative values in agreement with other researchers were also measured.
