The advanced materials of nuclear engineering for providing ecological safety of the surrounding biosphere: carbides and nitrides of transitive metals were considered. Their essential defect was brittleness within the low temperature operating range. The probabilistic models of the thermal strength calculation are used for analyzing the systems made from the brittle materials. Let's consider the summary of such models essence. The probabilistic estimation of the system state at the given loading gains the principal meaning at the strength analyses of the complex systems made from the brittle materials. Such estimation of the complex systems strength based on the distribution of the strength characteristics under simple tests. It allows predicting the complex system behavior at the known characteristics of the separate system elements. The mathematical relations were obtained for the probability of the brittle materials fracture. The illustrative examples for using mathematical relations are given.
