Mold Growth Inside Air Conditioning Equipment

The air inside air conditioning equipment and ductwork is at essentially 100% relative humidity, but mold does not ordinarily grow on surfaces inside these units. This is because the wall of the unit is warmer than the air stream and above the dew point of the air in the air stream. This abstract will present measurements and observations taken in operating air-conditioning equipment that demonstrates these conditions.
