This paper will explain how to identify and remove the causes of quality compromises, step-by-step, resulting in process capability improvements. Gauging and closed-loop control systems can be used in process capability studies, as well as for overall process improvement. This paper will focus on quality improvement and process capability analysis. Based on practical industry examples, the steps of a typical action plan will be presented on how to analyze process capability and how to achieve scrap and raw material reductions.
