The Present Status and the Prospect of External Desulphurization of Hot Metal with Magnesium-containing Desulphurization in China

摘要

In order to meet the need for low and extra-low sulfur steel, steel plants are paying more and more attention to external desulphurization of hot metal with magnesium-containing desulphurizers. Several plants in China have built up equipment for desulphurization since 1998 and put into production. In the present paper, the present status about the development in China is introduced, the desulphurization capacities of various desulphurization systems are analyzed on the basis of thermodynamical principle and compared, and the prospect is predicted.
