Multi element sealing system for hydraulic applications to improve performance and service time under highest loads

Sealing systems with several elements to seal linear movement under pressure load are well known. Depending on the technical demand the amount of sealing elements and the sealing configuration can vary. The paper presents a new sealing system using a specific pressure between the primary and secondary seal of sealing systems. Under these circumstances not the full system pressure is loading the primary seal, but the differential pressure between system and trapped pressure. The load of the primary seal is directly reduced and the seal lubrication is optimised. This effects an improvement of operating time.
