Several types of hydraulic and pneumatic motors are normally used in industrial applications. Vane motors are the most popular general-purpose hydraulic and pneumatic motors. This paper presents a parametric study of the dynamics of a frictionless turbine. Among the parameters studied include the effect of geometry, pressure differential, and number of blades on the resulting torque. The study shows that the average torque increases with increasing the geometrical eccentricity, pressure differential between intake and discharge, and number of blades.
