This paper seeks to show a connection between acceleration of the cab operator seat (jerk), and the pressure difference derivative between the left and right steering cylinders on articulated vehicles. Observations of different system and the effects on the jerk damping solution will be discussed as it relates to both purely hydraulic systems and electro hydraulic systems. In general, it has been shown that the rate of change between the pressure difference of the left and right steering cylinders can correlate to the jerk induced on the operator. Finally, suggestions on how to instrument set limits for the critical parameters are outlined.
